adagascar - An isolated island of about twice the size of Arizona - has one of the biggest biodiversity in the world. About 200 000 sorts found in Madagascar, about 150 000 are endemic - what means that they exist only there.

More than 50 types of lemurs, 99 % of the sorts of frogs and 36 kinds of birds are unique on the island.

Madagascar shelters 100 % of the lemurs of the planet, half of the sorts of chameleons, 6 % of frogs, and no toad.


Some of the sorts found in Madagascar get closer more sorts found in the south Pacific and South America than from those of Africa.
